Now that the Supreme Court of the United States has decided that the Second Amendment to the Constitution means that individual Americans have a right to bear arms, what can we expect?

Maybe this wife has it RIGHT and we should change our tactics !!!
One morning, the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap.
Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book.
Along comes a Game Warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, ‘Good morning, Ma’am. What are you doing?’
‘Reading a book,’ she replies, ( thinking , ‘Isn’t that obvious ? ‘)
‘You’re in a Restricted Fishing Area,’ he informs her.
‘I’m sorry, officer, but I’m not fishing. I’m reading’
‘Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I’ll have to take you in and write you up.’
‘If you do that, I’ll have to charge you with sexual assault ,’ says the woman.
‘But I haven’t even touched you,’ says the game warden.
‘That’s true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment.’
‘Have a nice day ma’am,’ and he left.

Americans lament the partisan venom of today’s politics, but for sheer verbal savagery, the country’s founders were in a league of their own. Ron Chernow on the Revolutionary origins of divisive discourse.

Protect Our Water – Scott Valley is holding a General Meeting of information on Wed. June 30, 2010 in Etna, CA. 7 p.m.
Siskiyou County is under attack by a new lawsuit that could affect Water Rights of those who legally use water from wells to irrigate fields.
The lawsuit claims that Scott River is depleted — see a photo of the volume of Scott River on June 26, 2010 in two posts below this one — but it is full of water. And irrigating is in full swing.
This lawsuit is full of lies.
The lawsuit is demanding permits for ground water pumping. But that water is a legal Water Right, so if a landowner opts to obtain a PERMIT, he or she will be destroying their use of their Water Right.
To learn how to protect your ground water and your Water Right —
Attend the POW – Scott Valley meeting this Wed. June 30, 2010 at 7 p.m.
It will be held at the Masonic Hall on Etna’s Main Street.
Here is the beginning of an article published by Redding Record Searchlight in neighboring Shasta County of California.
Glen Spain of the Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen’s Assoc. has long been a Greenie and spews outrageous rhetoric.

A commercial fishing group has teamed up with an environmental group to sue the state and Siskiyou County over how groundwater permits are issued around the Scott River.
The Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen’s Associations and the Environmental Law Foundation filed the lawsuit this month, saying the state and county are failing to leave enough water in the Scott River to protected dwindling salmon runs.
“Scott River water depletion has gotten so bad that today coho salmon are on the verge of extinction there, once one of their major refuges,” said Glen Spain, northwest regional director for the PCFFA, which has offices in Eugene, Ore., and San Francisco. “All the while, the state’s water agencies have been looking the other way and doing little to stop it.”

As James Madison aptly notes, it all began with an act of civil disobedience in rejection of a tax on tea — a Tea Party.
