The recent “Huffington Post” article attempts to paint two prominent Sheriffs as men who are above or outside the law.  This could not be further from the truth.  Although I am not qualified to comment on the problems faced in Maricopa County, I believe they must be serious for the duly elected County Sheriff to take positions which are so unpopular with the urban residents of the East and West Coast of the United States.

I cannot imagine how groups of people and politicians who are literally a thousand or more miles away from Sheriff Arpaio’s jurisdiction, as well as a so called writer in San Francisco, feel the need to weigh in with such vitriolic diatribe against the duly elected, sworn County Sheriff of Arizona.

I am qualified to comment on the issues facing the County Sheriff of Siskiyou County.  I am qualified because I am one of the people who asked him to serve by placing my vote in the ballot box with a check mark next to his name.  Think about that all of you protectors of the environment in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Sheriff Lopey is a man of honor.

Sheriff Lopey is a man of integrity.

Sheriff Lopey is the man WE have chosen to uphold the Constitution of the United States against all enemies both FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC.

 Sheriff Lopey is the man WE have chosen to ENFORCE AND UPHOLD THE LAW.

Sheriff Lopey is the only duly elected law enforcement standing between the PEOPLE OF SISKIYOU COUNTY, and your agenda.

When anyone comes to Siskiyou County, they are bound to follow the law.   Sheriff Lopey is the man WE HAVE ELECTED TO ENSURE THAT EVERYONE FOLLOWS THE LAW.  Not the law as the agencies choose to interpret it that day.  Not the law, the environmental-socialists wish they could use to destroy our way of life, but the law as it applies to everyone.  Contrary to popular belief in Washington DC, the people of Siskiyou County enjoy equal protection under the law according to the fourteenth amendment.  Sheriff Lopey is our elected representative who will make sure of it.

Glen Martin states in his July 2, 2012 “Huffington Post” article that Sheriff Lopey is disinclined to enforce some laws.  I cannot imagine a bigger lie.

Glen Martin has probably never met Sheriff Lopey and certainly does not know him.

If Glen Martin, the so called reporter for the “Huffington Post” had any knowledge of Sheriff Lopey, he would know what the Voters of Siskiyou already know.

Jon Lopey is not anti-government.

Quite the opposite.

Our Sheriff has been involved in government all of his adult life.  A Retired Field Grade Army officer and Retired California Highway Patrol Officer.

Sheriff Lopey is very proud of the fact that he works very well with State and Federal agencies.

Our Sheriff, and I repeat, OUR SHERIFF, will not tolerate any nonsense or illegal behavior from ANYONE.  Sheriff Lopey will not tolerate illegal behavior from individuals or from Agency employees of the Government.

This is the reason: THE VOTERS OF SISKIYOU COUNTY HAVE ASKED SHERIFF LOPEY TO SERVE THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY, YET AGAIN.

The Constitution of the United States is clear and easy to read.  The oath of office of a Peace Officer or Public Official is very clear and it is easy to read.  The meaning of this oath is not confusing in the least.  I sincerely doubt that Glen Martin or anyone at the “Huffington Post” has ever read it or the Constitution for that matter.

THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IS A DOCUMENT BORNE FROM THE RESISTANCE OF THE PEOPLE TO THE TYRANNY OF A NON-RESPONSIVE AND OPPRESSIVE GOVERNMENT.  GOVERNMENT HAS ONE FUNCTION AND ONLY ONE FUNCTION: TO PROTECT THE RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE.

 GOVERNMENT DERIVES ALL OF ITS POWER FROM THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED.  THE CONSTITUTION WAS DESIGNED TO PROTECT THE PEOPLE FROM THE GOOD INTENTIONS OF WELL MEANING DESPOTS.

GOD BLESS SHERIFF LOPEY, GOD BLESS THE CONSTITUTIONAL SHERIFFS, GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
